The Acton Children's School was founded in 1986 as an educational non-profit corporation by a small group of educators and parents interested in high quality options for the care and education of young children. The goal of this group was to create a new program which would provide families with well coordinated, continuous care and education starting at age 2 years through age seven. The Acton Children's School is licensed by the Department of Early Education and care (EEC) of Massachusetts, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and governed by the Board of Trustees consisting of parents and staff.
